Carl Jung, a famous psychologist said the following: ”Even a happy life cannot be without a measure of sadness, and the word ‘happy’ would lose its meaning if it were not balanced by sadness.”
Why is this so significant? In my experience, life has so many different demands on an individual no matter how old you are and sometimes we end up feeling overwhelmed and sometimes in the process of living we lose sight of WHO WE ARE.
This informs my approach when I am working with individuals. My therapy techniques and assessments focus on the HOLISTIC PERSON and to get to the AUTHENTIC SELF, the self you were destined to be. To connect to the inner being again. To do this I focus individual sessions on introspection, self-development and self-growth and going on a journey of self-discovery with every single client I see.
I am passionate about incorporating neuroscience into my counselling techniques, as everything and all experiences starts and ends with the human brain.
“There is no passion to be found playing small – in settling for a life that is less than the one you are capable of living. “

Typical individual interventions
Personal development and introspection
Sometimes in life, we get to a point where we don’t recognise the person that stares back at us in the mirror anymore, or you don’t like the person you have become. Sometimes living up to the expectations of other people, giving all we have within ourselves to those around us results in us losing ourselves completely.
Through self-development and introspection I help clients to redefine and re-discover who they are and sometimes creating the person they want to be and have the potential to be.
We also set clear dreams and goals and pathways to achieve those goals and dreams. I go on a journey of self-discovery with my client and provide a safe space when they need it.
Adjustment
Sometimes life throws us a curveball and we have to adjust because we are forced to. When this happens, many times we don’t know how to adjust to the new circumstances. This can include new mothers having to adjust to returning to work, less sleep, more responsibilities and at times it can be really difficult to find a balance between everything.
This is when we need an outside perspective as well as coping mechanisms until we get used to the new normal and find a balance.
This can also include life-changing events like divorce, change of work, death of someone close to us or a traumatic event
Trauma counselling
When people go through traumatic experiences, it is necessary to go through a series of counselling sessions to help them overcome the intense emotions they experience as a result of the trauma they experienced. Sometimes they may experience symptoms like sleeplessness, poor memory, and struggling to cope with life’s demands. Trauma does not have to affect your quality of life – you just need guidance on how to make sense of it and how to adjust and work through the emotions and feelings caused by the trauma.
Performance coaching
During performance coaching I work with clients on possible hindrances to performance or what is preventing them from optimal performance. We also explore possible reasons for non-performance or not performing to the desired standards for instance resilience, perseverance, motivation and we work on those constructs that will result in performance improvement. Changes to performance are also closely monitored and I prepare the client on how to manage performance in the future.
Counselling interventions
During counselling interventions the approach is unique to every client and I incorporate neuroscience into my counselling approach to understand human behaviour and how to change our thinking and our behaviour tapping brainstructures and neural pathways.
